The good thing about this blog is that it is making me a more discerning shop viewer. At first glance I wouldn't even have opened the link to this kit as I am not a big coral or pale blue fan. I'm glad that I gave this kit a second look as it has a lot to look at.
Papers - The standout paper for me in this kit is the plaid. If you have the Chipboard Action from Atomic Cupcake you could make an awesome alpha from this. The olive/brown floral paper is very versatile - a masculine-type floral. I like the plain papers too, they look from the preview as if they have a texture that will look good printed out.
Elements - Hah! Nearly made a faux-pas there. I thought that there were two "frilled paper' ribbons which looked unusual, but on closer inspection they are rather nice blanket stitches in two colors. Luckily I double checked that! The ribbons are a mix of colours and patters that won't be lost on the papers, the only real paper/ribbon match is on the plaid pattern. The three tied ribbons co-ordinate with the plain papers and if you are working on a simple LO these would work well. The paper flowers with the button centres are quite versatile - suitable for a vintage LO, a shabby LO or an autumn LO, amongst others. My favourite elements in this kit are the playing cards. I can see them scrawled with a thick black Sharpie handwritten type font for journalling or as a title. You could even use them as a photo mat or a frame, but it would be a shame to lose the fine patterns on the back of the cards. The journaling blocks (especially the call-out blocks) are fun, with their graph paper background and colorful borders.
One second A kit well deserving of a second, deeper look.
